AP Physics C: Mechanics (Section A) Class Award

Reflecting back on my 12th grade, participating in this course was never an easy process. During my entire life, Physics has always been a subject that I was not really confident in. However, taking this course and meeting Mr. Taedo, the Physics teacher, my perception of this subject completely altered. Throughout the course, Mr. Taedo focused on teaching students "how" to approach new knowledge, not "what" to learn.

Hence, this positively influenced me throughout different assignments and projects, too. Most of my teachers at school often provided a strict, rigorous curriculum that did not leave much space for student independence. However, this course was completely different. Essays and research papers were primarily led by me, and the interaction was mutually led, not one-sided, and the teacher was merely there to provide the last little spark of idea that I needed in order to think innovatively.

In fact, these student-led explorations actually led to better results. I was able to explore uncommon but educationally worthwhile topics, while still understanding every single word I wrote. Therefrom, I think this was a really groundbreaking learning experience for me, and I hope to repeat this in the future in different academic areas.
