The AP Scholar Award with Honor was not merely a certificate that proved my successful performance. It was sort of an encouragement that not only brought me confidence and motivation but also a sense of relief.

 

Due to all the virtual learning and social distances induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to spend most of my time studying, alone at home. Thus, I wasn't able to actively interact with my peers, share my concerns, or compete with others and check whether I was on the right track. As a result, I soon fell into a slump as I lost the motivation to constantly push myself to move on to the next level and work harder.

 

However, receiving this meaningful award after all the studying that I did alone without conviction, acted as a great turning point. Realizing that I have been doing an outstanding job in the middle of all the stressful circumstances, enhanced my confidence and gave me the drive to hammer away. Also, all the frustrations and doubts that I had about myself disappeared into nowhere, since I learned that I have been overlooking my hard work and ability lately. Thanks to this experience, I gained such great self-confidence and was thrilled to begin a new journey of education, like I did all the time.
